At the meeting, we will discuss trip details, preparation, and costs. Registration for the trip will be opened after the meeting; a $200 deposit will be needed to register online. We also invite parents/guardians to join their students as chaperones.

Eighth Grade PSAT Testing

JCMS will administer the PSAT on Tuesday, October 22, 2024. All eighth graders will take the PSAT 8, a valuable test that provides data to help support their academic growth as they begin the transition between middle school and high school, and to prepare them for maximizing their SAT score during their junior year of high school. Students should make sure to get a good night's rest, enjoy a protein-packed breakfast, and have their device charged for testing!

College Go Week - September 23–27

College Go Week is finally here!

You may have heard your students planning outfits for this upcoming week. This year, the theme is centered around Legos--"Build Your Career!". This week is dedicated to helping students explore different pathways after high school which include discussions about military, trade schools, and college. We hope that your student walks away from this week more knowledgeable about the many ways they can build a successful career, starting now!

Students can receive tickets for their participation in games, lunch trivia, and dressing up with the themes. JCMS dress code is still to be followed during this week (no hats, no slippers, no face paint).

Daily prizes will be given out, but Friday is the day where all of the awesome prizes will be on display. Students will place their participation tickets in the bags of the prizes they hope to win! Winners of those prizes will be announced at the end of the day next Friday.

  • Monday: Dream Big - Wear appropriate pajamas.
  • Tuesday: Trade and Military Day - Wear your favorite trade clothes, military branch, or camo to support the armed forces.
  • Wednesday: Teacher Swap - Students dress like teachers, and teachers dress like students.
  • Thursday: Build your Career - Dress as a Lego, or wear one color clothing.
  • Friday: College Game Day - Wear your favorite sports gear.

Parent-Teacher Conferences

Parent-teacher conferences will take place on Wednesday, September 11 and on Thursday, September 12 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. We encourage attending conferences for fostering strong communication and collaboration between parents and educators. These meetings provide an opportunity for parents to gain insights into their child’s academic progress and behavior. By attending, parents can better understand their child’s strengths and areas for improvement, as well as discuss strategies to support learning at home. We look forward to seeing you!

Title 1 Parent Meeting

Each year our Title 1 staff hosts an informational meeting for parents as we navigate a new school year. We want to make sure parents understand the support that we can offer. Please plan to attend our upcoming meeting on Thursday, August 22 in the JCMS library.

Parents will learn about opportunities offered to students through our Title 1 funds. Parents can meet the Title 1 and Tier 2 Panther Den Staff. We would love to meet you and discuss how we can help your student.
