Jennings County School Corporation Update

Superintendent Mrs. Brown will continue with the hybrid schedule for the first two weeks while monitoring the COVID-19 virus in our community and our schools.  Our goal is to return as quickly as possible to our traditional schedule while assuring our students and staff are safe to do so.

Please see our January 14, 2021, Jennings County School Corporation update for complete schedule details.

Ongoing Hybrid Schedule Expectations

Dear JCMS Parents:

As our nation continues searching for answers to end this pandemic, JCMS continues to search for ways to assure our students are succeeding. During the first semester, we witnessed a number of our students struggling academically due to the requirement to work independently. We know this is extremely hard for 12–14-year-old students.

As we start the second semester, we will be offering:

  • A continuation of our dual-platform: This allows for students to be able to see live instruction if and when they are not able to attend school.
  • We will request students with failing grades to attend the Panther Days. On these days, students will be responsible for the eLearning for the Panther Day and to complete missing assignments.
  • We will offer the Panther Days the first two weeks of the second semester and periodically throughout the semester until the pandemic begins to improve.
  • We will post JCMS information on our JCMS website, Facebook, Skylerts, School Messenger, and other social media opportunities.

For the expectations going forward and our ongoing hybrid schedule, please read the entire January 1, 2021, parent letter.

Digital Library

Great news! JCMS now has electronic access to e-book collections. We will have more titles available soon. For now, please visit our digital collection page to browse for your next read.

To log in, use your regular school username (firstnamelastnameyear), but the password is just your lunchnumber, not your lunchnumberyear. If you have any problems, please email Mrs. Schwering, and she will gladly help you.

Fish Free School

For the 2019–2020 and 2020–2021 school years, Jennings County Middle School is fish free. Please understand that it is important for the well-being, and in this situation, life of one of our students that we do not have fish in our building. Therefore, please do not send any type of fish in your child's lunches for the next two years.

Thank you for your understanding.

Our band department is looking for the following instruments. If you have an old instrumenting laying around that you would be willing to donate to our JCMS Band Department, we would greatly appreciate your support and it would also be a tax deduction.
