I love middle school students! They are fun and open and always full of surprises. They are figuring out who they are going to be. They are vulnerable and feisty all at the same time. I am proud to be a Jennings County Middle School Counselor!
I earned my Master of Science in Education through the School Counseling program at Indiana University Southeast. My undergraduate degree was from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University in Bloomington in Marketing, as well as Management. I have a minor in Psychology.
Prior to completion of the School Counseling program, I spent fifteen years working in schools in various capacities as a volunteer, substitute teacher and member of leadership councils. My passion is working with teenagers.
I am married to Matthew Phillips and we have two sons. After 20 years of following him around the world with the Air Force, we reside in southern Indiana. Our oldest son is a middle school English Language Arts teacher. The younger son is a student at Indiana University in Bloomington. We also have two dogs and a cat.Besides spending time with middle school students, I enjoy spending time with my family. One of my favorite things to do is to walk the trails around our farm. I also enjoy reading and playing the piano.
